Risks and Challenges in Shipping Ceramic Chimineas
The risks of shipping ceramic chimineas — and how we pack every Sparkle Stone piece so your outdoor clay fireplace arrives flawless.
Where to place a chimenea
For safety, place your chimenea somewhere the flames can be seen and enjoyed, away from foot traffic. A chimenea works best with its back towards the prevailing wind — though the enclosed design keeps it far more stable than an open fire bowl.
What surface is suitable?
Choose a fire-resistant surface. The safest options are: • concrete slabs • stone paving • brick.
If your outdoor space is a wooden deck, create a safety zone using slabs or a purpose-built patio hearth — a heat-safe platform for outdoor fireplaces. Make sure there are no roofs, eaves or branches above the chimney.
Extra tips
Ideally, let the wood burn down to ash inside the chimenea. The protective lid helps regulate the burn and keeps rain out when not in use.
Simple to set up and use
The chimenea is easy to assemble — set the tripod stand where you want it, place the body on top, and it is ready for the first fire.
Upgrade your patio decor with a handcrafted Sparkle Stone ceramic chimenea.
Keep at least 2-3 metres from walls, wooden fences or fabric garden furniture, and make sure no branches or eaves hang above the chimney. On safe surfaces — concrete slabs, stone, brick — the chiminea can go wherever you need warmth: next to the dining area, the reading corner or around the evening table.
