How Your Clay Chiminea Is Packed to Arrive Intact
Every clay chiminea leaves the workshop in a reinforced box with moulded padding, and the lid travels separately so it cannot knock against the body on the way. If anything is ever damaged in transit, we replace it free of charge.
Why packing matters for a clay chiminea
A handcrafted clay chiminea weighs around 19 kg and is made from natural fired clay. It is sturdy in use, but a hard knock during transport can crack it. That is why every piece is packed individually and checked before it leaves us.
How it is packed
- a reinforced shipping box sized for the chiminea;
- moulded padding around the body, so it cannot move inside the box;
- the protective lid packed and secured separately.
What to check when it arrives
Before you open the box, look at the parcel itself. If the outer box is crushed or torn, photograph it before opening. Then unpack the chiminea and check the body, the mouth and the chimney for cracks or chips while it is still next to its packaging.
What if it arrives damaged?
Photograph the parcel before opening and the product right after, then email office@mysparklestone.com within 48 hours. We carry the risk for goods damaged in transit until delivery, and we replace a transport-damaged chiminea free of charge.
Returns and warranty
You can return a product bought from our website within 14 calendar days of receiving it, unused and in its original packaging with all accessories; return shipping is paid by the customer unless the product arrived defective or was the wrong item. Every chiminea also has a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover cracks caused by incorrect use (high flames without the initial curing), mechanical damage from handling, or wear from being left unprotected outdoors.
